    Abstract / Zusammenfassung

Bacillus cereus toyoi spores germinate very rapidly in the digestive tract and may pass through several germination and sporulation cycles within the digestive tract. Oral administration of spores of this probiotic results in colonisation of the entire digestive tract of broilers and piglets. The probiotic persists for several days to weeks in the intestine. The composition of microbial populations in the digestive tract of suckling piglets is influenced by feeding Toyocerin in young piglets was the growth suppression of enterobacteria and in part enterococci. Future studies on the mode of action of probiotics must address the characterisation of bacterial physiological activities in the digestive tract and the occurrence of pathogenicity factors.
