Aims and workpackage:
- To clarify on statistical basis, if the two commercial availiable media (TPY and TOS) both in combination with MUP are suited for the enumeration of bifidobacteria occuring in sour milk produkts
- To investigate if there is a difference in the growth performance of the local chosen probiotic yogurt products containing bifidobacteria in addition to S. thermophilus and L. acidophilus
- To find out if the commercial available TPY medium and the TOS medium are suited for routine purposes
- Experimental design strategy outlined by H. Weiss, W. Kneifel & U. Zitz
- Bifido trials performance in January until March 2005
- Preparatory trials at BOKU/Vienna in 2004/2005
* Experimental design:
- 3 different local available yogurts containing
Bifidobacteria, S. thermophilus and L. acidophilus selected by each of the participating laboratories
- 6 participating laboratories
- Analyst performance of all the participating laboratories
- Main trial with 2 separated dilution series performed on both media and within one day
- Statistical evaluation
