    Abstract / Zusammenfassung

This case study of A/H5N1 spillover to mammals in the Gdańsk area underlines the complexities of managingemerging One Health threats in significant political and economic aspects. We compared the relatively successful rapid regional response with the utterly lost battle in communication and cooperation, emphasising the need for improved interdisciplinary regional and international cooperation and robust surveillance systems in an era of anthropogenic and natural change.
