Abstract / Zusammenfassung

The combined probiotic preparation Seb suini was supplemented to a basal ration at three levels 100, 150 and 200 mg*kg-1 feed and the effects on growth performance, apparent nutrient digestibility and digesta pH of defined intestinal segments in weaned piglets were studied. The supplementation of probiotic slightly improved daily weight gain and feed conversion ratio. The effects on digestibility were decreased. Clear dose responses were not observed. Overall a positive effect of the probtiotic was observed. Failure of a dose-response and contradictory effects on pH and digestibility were possibly caused by the combination of different strains.
