    Abstract / Zusammenfassung

At the beginning of the 19th century the idea of protecting animals began to spread all over Europe and found its expression in the foundation of societies for protection of animals. Above all ethic and moral aspects caused the members of the movement for protection of animals to take care of animals. Even during the 2nd World War the idea stayed alive. In Austria, Switzerland and Germany he number of the organizations that were anxious about animals protections increased rapidly from the 2nd World War until today. A multitude of societies, initiatives and unions but also excellent unique personalities above all are working at the following themes: - the caritative protection of animals what means thedirect "caring for help" for animals in misery- the animal in the scientific experiments- the industrial mass animal stalls the slaughteringand "Schächten"- the fur bearing animals in their natural surrounding and in fur-farms- the transportation of animals which during the time transferred their focal point to the transportation on trucks. From the beginning of the 7th the movement for protection of animals showed strong tendencies to split up and to spezialice. So today the societies in all of their numbers are different in their aims and their way to reach it.
