Abstract / Zusammenfassung

The function of insulin in cattle was examined by means of the intravenous glucose tolerance test (GTT). The reaction of insulin and glucose was investigated after infusion of 1 g Glucose/kg0.75 because of the probable genetic determination of the reactive ability. The coefficients of heritability range from h2 = 0.16±0.10 to h2 = 0.28±0.16. Investigating 28 sires the correlation coefficients was r = 0.5 for parameters of glucose tolerance test and estimated breeding values which was closer than those between pedigree breeding value and glucose tolerance test
