The goal of this project is to identify host proteins involved in endosomal compartment fusion events which are associated with the Salmonella-containing vacuole (SCV) or phagosome in an effort to identify the source(s) of intracellular compartments acquired or accessed by Salmonella during the infection process. The project is divided into two main categories or sub divisions - (1) To study the possibility of fusion events between CMA components and the SCV and (2) identify cellular SNARE proteins associated with the SCV.
