SFB 852-TP A3 Effects of feed additives and probiotics on the dynamics of E. coli populations and the antiinflammatoryimmune response in the swine gut

This project aims at unravelling the function of zinc and of two probiotics., E.faecium and transgenic E.coli Nissie 1917, in diversity and dynamics of intestinal E.coli populations. The occurence of pathogenic and commencal E.coli clones will be defined in vivo (pig model, pig-flora-associated mouse model) and in vivo. The expression of E.coli genes (haemolysin, systems, adhesins) will be compared with colonization success to understand the dynamics of the intestinal E.coli. We will also seek to elucidate the influence of AvCystatin- expressing EcN on immune response in pigs. |
