The overall goal is to engineer vectored herpes virus vaccines that express the hemagglutinnes (H5, H7, H9) of highly pathogenic influenza viruses using infectious clones of Marek’s disease virus (MDV) or duck enteritis virus (DEV). Similarly, equine herpes virus type (EHV-1) recombinants expressing VP2 and/or VP5 of African horse sickness in the target species or laboratory animals for their capacity to induce specific and protective immune responses. |
