The aim if this scientific cooperation is to investigate, whether SLO-1 is also emodepside target in other parasitic nematodes, namely Trichuris muris, Onchocerca gutturosa and/or Dirofilaria immitis. It is of special interest to identify SLO-1 in the filarial worms Onchocerca spp. and Dirofilaria spp. because it has been shown that emodepside has in vivo activities against these two filariae which have great importance in veterinary as well as human medicine.
